I cheated...

We quit smoking over a month ago now, but I have to admit I totally cheated this last weekend.  I had a lot on my plate and when I got home on Thursday, I told Ryan that all I wanted was a glass of my favorite wine and a smoke.  The argued with me, half-heartedly, but finally agreed provided I didn't start smoking again.  I promised I wouldn't, he requested I sign a contract stating such, I refused, and we headed to the store.

First, we picked up some smokes and then we headed down to my favorite little winery to pick up a bottle of my favorite wine - blackberry cab.  We looked through the bins and again, they were totally out of my wine.  Bummer.  So, we decided that now was as good a time as any to try their wood fired, pizza Napoletana.  We decided to order their artichoke dip as a starter.  Ryan loved it.  I thought it needed spinach :)  Then, we went with the traditional Margherita pizza, but we added some imported Italian ham; and I settled for a glass of regular cabernet sauvignon.

It was absolutely delicious.  I have never, ever in my life tasted a pizza sauce that was this simple yet amazing.  Ryan and I finished the entire pizza, and quite honestly, I probably could have eaten more because it was that good.  It is now officially my favorite pizza ever (sorry Prime Time).  Also, it was pretty cool watching the guy make our pizza and then wood fire it.  I enjoyed the whole experience.

Then, with full bellies we headed home.  And this is where I cheated.  I had a cigarette.  And it was everything I remembered it being.  Amazing.  We proceeded to have a few more smokes over the course of the weekend, but ask Jenny, it was no more than 2 a day.  And, I'm sure you will all be happy to know that I haven't had one since and don't plan to.

So there.  I cheated.  But, most think it was entirely excusable.  I would tend to agree.

Sorry I've been MIA

We've been busy and a lot has been going on in the Ramsayer house.  I haven't yet decided if I am going to blog about all of it, but suffice it to say that our minds have been on things other than blogging.

This past weekend Jenny and Louis came to visit.  It was fantastic to see them since it has been nearly 9 months since we had seen them last.  We did a lot of good eating, some friendly boy vs. girl competitiion (and of course the girls won), introduced them to Modern Family (I love that show), and just had an all around great time.  It's visits like this that really make me miss living with J.  I mean, don't get me wrong, I love my husband and everything but c'mon he's a boy.  I think they should move to Michigan and we can have the boys live together and then J and I can live together just like old times.  Whaddya think?

Work has been pretty busy the last month.  I've had quite a few late nights.  But, I suppose busy is good because that means things are picking up more and that's good for everyone.  I hope I can take this month as a sign of the good things to come.  I mean, I took a day off last Friday because J & Louis were in town and I *still* had to go into work and get about 5 calls.

Next weekend, we'll be spending Saturday with one of our other favorite couples, Jill & Aaron.  We haven't seen them since January when we went to the Auto Show and we're long overdue for some good quality time together.  After Jill runs her marathon in Dearborn (GO JILL!!!), they're going to head down to our place for dinner, wine (beer for the boys), and hopefully some games.  I am super psyched!

The following weekend....dun dun dun....Inventory.  Somehow, my husband gets sucked into doing inventory every year.  So, we'll be working all next weekend.  Pro:  extra money.  Con:  losing a whole weekend.  Oh well, at least it's only once a year and we both got assigned to one of the easiest and most efficient stores this year!

And finally, we're exactly 3 weeks away from a much needed trip down to Florida.  My cousin is getting married the Saturday before Easter so we're all heading down there a little early to soak up some extra Florida rays and relax a bit and then join in the celebration.  I don't think this trip could come at a more perfect time.

And, that's all for now.  I'll try to most more frequently!  XOXO

I shall call him Squishy...

...and he shall be mine.  And he shall be MY Squishy.

MIA

Sorry I have been MIA for so long.  Things have been busy, busy in the Ramsayer house!  Ryan and I have both been swamped at work.  We both had crazy weeks last week.  We have also been embroiled in a battle of the wills with our Homeowners Association for a few weeks now.  It will all be coming to a head tonight at our annual meeting.  I have a feeling it is going to get *really* interesting.  If I have time tomorrow, I'll write a whole post about what has been going on with the HOA, the multiple meetings we've been to, and the result of the meeting scheduled tonight.

I just wanted to let you all know I am still alive.  I hope to have time to write more soon!
