The Talented Mrs. Winslow

My mom has spent a large portion of the summer making the most adorable quilt for Trina.  We finally got to see it finished and in all it's glory tonight!  It's absolutely amazing! 

I think the idea she went with is absolutely adorable.  She put little straps and Velcro on it so Trina can roll it up into a bundle and carry it with her.  The handle even has her name embroidered on it!  Check it out!

And here a good shot of the front and the back.  I think my mom picked out some great colors (pinks, oranges, and purples).

She even made a cute little tag for it (you can see it in the bottom right corner above), but here's a close up:

Trina was so excited when she got it today.  She immediately unrolled it and cuddled up with it on the chair!  Grandma has showed it to her a few times during the summer while she has been working on it.  She saw it again last weekend and asked when she was going to get it.  Grandma told her not for a few days because she still had to hand stitch the binding on.  To say the least, Trina was quite sad and wanted to know why it would take so long.  Maybe one day when she tries to do that much whip stitching she'll understand! 

After seeing this beauty I'm getting anxious to see the quilt my mom is making for us!!!  Although she did learn one important lesson on this one for Trina:  do not do the quilting yourself...it's worth the 1.5 cents per square inch to have someone else do it :)
