Ashley = cowardly lion. Eddie = scarecrow.
Mom = wicked witch of the west. Dad = flying monkey.
Melanie = Dorothy Gale. Ryan = Tin Man.
So, anyhoo, we ended up going to a new place for the Halloween party. But, it ended up being a really good time. They had a live band there called "The Strait" and they were awesome! They were even all dressed up in Halloween costumes. We all went and cut up the dance floor for a while:
Deer Man wanted Ashley hard! He kept asking her to dance, and she obliged until he started telling her some rather creepy things...then we had to steer clear of the dance floor otherwise he was all over her. It was actually pretty funny.
There was a costume contest, so we decided to enter. We ended up winning second place, which was pretty awesome! First place went to "Chain Smoker." His costume was awesome. He even had dry ice in the top of his hat so it would smoke. You'll see a pic of him in a bit. 3rd place went to a half man half woman. And 4th went to Hugh Hefner and his bunny. They had a pretty good costume too.
We met a lot of pretty cool people with awesome costumes while we were there. One of the first people we ran into was Alice Cooper. He told us he had won a costume contest the night before and got $500.
Here is a picture of "Chain Smoker" who won first place in the costume contest. The front of him was wrapped in this huge fake plastic chain, and then he had different packs of smokes attached between the chain links. He had cigarette packs and matches stuck into his top hat (where he also had the dry ice), and then he had made a ball and chain to put on his ankle. The ball was made entirely of cigarette packs. I also have to say, I never saw the man without a cigarette in his mouth. He played his part well.
And, here's a pic of the deer man that ended up wanting Ashley something fierce. We took this picture, then later on he came up to me and said, "Is Ashley here with her boyfriend?" I was a little confused as to how he would know her name, so I asked, "You mean my sister?" He said he yes, and that he wanted to ask her to dance, but didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings. I told him to go ahead and ask her, because Eddie doesn't dance anyway. I had no idea that he was going to be all over her for the rest of the night.
Aaaaaand, I've saved the best for last. These pictures make me laugh every. single. time I look at them. Billy Mays came to the costume party, and he even had a bag of "coke" in his shirt pocket. After the boys and him yelled back and forth in true Billy Mays style, they decided unanimously that Mr. Mays was the best costume ever, and that they needed a picture with him. This is what they came up with:
If you look closely at the first picture, you can see the "coke" all over their faces. And then of course, we have the picture of the monkey and Billy making "coke" flour lines on the table. Hysterical.
